Entertainment
Roadside Willies Smokehouse & Bar serves a niche market in Truro-Bible Hill when it comes to "wining and dining." And while our facility continues to delight guests with a casual dining experience in a cozy and intimate setting, we are committed to broadening our appeal by developing over time an enviable lineup of live entertainment acts which appeal to the "baby boomer" generation. We take great pride in the fact that, even with a packed-to-capacity nighttime entertainment event, a security detail is not required at Roadside Willies. Our customer base is second to none and our friendly atmosphere is second to none. And we plan to keep it that way! Willie's Baby Grand is an amazing piece of technological art and serves as the showcase for the central dining area. This beautiful piano is a feast for the eyes and plays a key role in the overall ambience at Roadside Willies. The amazing thing is that it plays itself, reproducing songs down to the smallest detail. Diners just shake their heads in disbelief when they see the piano keys move all by themselves, creating beautiful music in the process. Although live performances by professional pianists are usually organized on a request basis for catered events, we do have "house" players from time-to-time and it is not uncommon to see diners demonstrating their piano prowess while waiting for their food! Amateur pianists can arrange to play Willie's Baby Grand and have their audio-visual performance recorded onto DVD at no cost.
Although Roadside Willies is not a sports bar, by reservation we can accommodate the needs of sports enthusiasts for special events during afternoon hours or after 9:00pm in the evening. Depending on scheduling considerations and the number of people involved, we may be able to host your sports party during prime time hours too. We have the absolute best High Definition Big Screen in town bar none. Press a button and a high performance, wide-angle view screen measuring ten feet in diameter descends from the ceiling. The accompanying HD-projector delivers a spectacular picture that will leave you awestruck. Why settle for less? If you have a gang of 20 or more people, we would be happy to host your sports party and provide free use of Willie's Big Screen. Snack trays or other food items are available by pre-order for your event.
It is rare in the food industry for customers to rave about the selection of recorded music being played to complement their dining experience. We hear the accolades virtually every day at Roadside Willies. Music is an emotional expression, an art that in one guise or another permeates every human society. Given the importance of music in our daily lives, not to mention the enjoyment it brings, it is surprising that most dining establishments pay little or no attention to what they are pumping into customers' ears. Not so at Roadside Willies. Carefully selected background music is distributed throughout the restaurant by fourteen high quality speakers, positioned for the best acoustic sound reproduction possible at low volumes. Zone controls allow for individual volume settings in each dining area for greater versatility.
